Each of the eight interior sites are being planted with:
- Local Douglas-fir – B class — Seedlings were grown from seed collected in forests near the site
- Local Douglas-fir – A class — Seedlings were grown from select seed collected from trees in a seed orchard. The seed orchard trees were grown from seed collected near the site (– not available for all sites)
- “Future” Douglas-fir (B class) – Seedlings were grown from seed collected from forests with a climate that is similar to that projected for the site in 50 years
- Douglas-fir (B class) – Seedlings were grown from seed collected near the other 7 sites
- Local ponderosa pine
- Local lodgepole pine
- Local western larch
The coastal site (Malcolm Knapp) was planted with 5 species, all grown from local seed: Douglas-fir, western redcedar, western white pine, amabilis fir, Sitka spruce.
